India’s largest bike manufacturer Hero MotoCorp launched the Desitini 125 and finally made its entry into the fast-growing 125cc segment. Hero has decided to appeal to the more budget-oriented buyers in the segment with its new scooter. You can check the destini 125 review here.

The appearance of the scooter

It is a simple, and clean-looking scooter. The chrome chest on the front is distinctive, and the chrome accents on the side do add a touch of premium-ness to the Destini 125. The dual-tone seat and the cast alloy wheels look gentle on the eye. Overall, the Desitini 125 does not look busy and makes its presence felt elegant. Price

You can search the price online and compare it with bikes like 125cc bikes. The base variant is priced at INR 54,650 and the top variant is priced at 57,500. The hero destini scooter is available in four metallic colours such as Noble Red, Panther Black, Chestnut Bronze & Pearl Silver White.

Basic Features

You can search for the features nearby showrooms or also online. You can search and compare with other models like 125cc bikes. The instrument console is a combination of an analogue speedometer and a digital display that provides information like fuel level. The console houses a side-stand indicator along with a service indicator. There is an external fuel filling port, an optional under-seat mobile charger. Destini 125 is added with an integrated braking system. However, it misses out on a disc brake, and there is a drum brake on both ends.

Engine

Destini 125 owns a new 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine mated to a CVT unit. The scooter gets Hero’s i3S technology. It is present already on Hero’s commuter motorcycles. The Idle Start-Stop System helps the rider turn on the scooter with the help of pulling either of the brake levers and opening the throttle. It is helpful when the engine shuts off in city traffic. Hero claims a fuel efficiency figure of about 50 km/l, due to the i3S technology which provides greater fuel efficiency. 

Powertrain

The Hero Destini 125 is powered by a new 124.6cc single-cylinder engine. It generates 8.8PS at 6750rpm and 10.2Nm at 5000rpm. Working in conjunction with a variomatic transmission, this new engine makes 17 per cent more torque and 9 per cent more power. The engine comes with Hero’s patented i3S start-stop technology and this feature automatically shuts off the engine after idling for 5 seconds. To turn the engine on, one needs to pull either of the brake levers or open the throttle. 

Underpinnings

The Destini 125 is provided with telescopic forks up front and a single shock absorber at the back. The scooter comes to a stop using drum brakes on both ends. It gets Hero’s Integrated Braking System, which moves the front brake when the rear brake lever is pulled to provide an equalised brake force and improve stability. The 10-inch wheels come shod with 90-section tubeless tyres at each end.
