Having a nice car to take you anywhere can be a fun thing. Unfortunately, it can be spoiled if your car has tree sap on it. It’s because tree sap on your car will not only spoil its aesthetics, but it can also damage your car paint and even be harmful if it sticks to your car window. So, it’s always a good idea to know how to remove tree sap on car because such an unfortunate thing can happen to you. The following are 4 easy steps to remove tree sap on your car that you can implement.

Gather your supplies

The first step to do when you want to remove tree sap on your car is to gather your supplies. They at least include microfiber cloth, warm water, car soap, rubbing alcohol or a sap remover product, and car wax or polish. In this case, it’s recommended to get a sap remover product because such a product has gone through research and development, making it the best solution when it comes to removing tree sap. However, if you don’t have time to get a sap remover product from a store that sells it, then rubbing alcohol should still be able to do the trick.

Clean the area first

Once you have gathered the required supplies, then the second step is to clean the area first. To do this, you can start washing the area with tree sap on it with warm water and car soap that you have prepared before. Once it’s clean, you can proceed to dry it using the microfiber cloth that you have also prepared. This is to make sure that there will be no debris when you start removing the tree sap because such debris can scratch the surface that has tree sap on it.

Apply a sap remover

After you clean the area, the next step to do is to apply a sap remover product. In this part, you have to refer to the product’s instructions written on the product packaging. However, this usually requires you to put a sufficient amount of the sap remover product on a microfiber cloth and press it onto the tree sap sticking on your car for around 30 seconds. Once the tree sap has been softened, you can start rubbing the area gently in a circular motion to lift the tree sap completely.

Rinse and protect the surface

When the tree sap has been lifted completely, then the last thing to do is to rinse and protect the surface which had tree sap on it before. For this step, you can use warm water and car soap again as in the second step until the area is completely clean. Then to prevent such an unfortunate thing from happening to your car again, you can protect it using a car wax or polish that you have prepared before. You only need to follow the product’s instructions to apply it on your car.
